Photo of the Week 1

Hello Again,

This week I would like to start with my 1st edition of the photo of the week. The photo of the week could be my favorite, most interesting or sometimes even just a funny photo that I took from the previous week.

To kick things off I have selected two different photos that were taken at Birch Grove Park, in Northfield, NJ.

The first photo has some mallards just enjoying themselves in a mostly frozen pond.

Photo number two could fall into the "Believe it or Not" category. This is what my wife and I believe is a very seldom seen tree snowman. We have read about these creatures before but never seen one. Now as everyone can see they really do exist. OK! so my wife made a baby snowman and I took a picture of him. So maybe we had been out in the cold too long and were getting a little silly.

Hope that everyone is enjoying all this snow that we are getting!

See you all next week.

Post One! Intro

So who am I? Living in quite Cape May, New Jersey for about 25 years left me plenty of time to get involved in sports and hobbies. I have always been a huge sports fan both watching and playing. My favorite sport is hockey and lucky for me it is the one I played the most and the best. At one point I even had a brief stint as a pro wrestler. While in high school I began to play the electric guitar and would end up switching over to bass guitar. I still play and have been in a bunch of cover and original bands.

So what got me into photography? To be honest, I really don't remember. My first camera was a Mickey Mouse camera around the age of 7 or so. I would have a few different cameras growing up, even borrowing my Grandfathers camera from time to time. My interest really peeked while taking pictures of wrestling in Wildwood. I remember not being happy with the photos that I was getting. You just can't take a point and shoot camera into a poorly lit building and expect good results. Along the way I meet a guy and his daughter that I would buy photos from. After seeing what he was using it made me realize thats what I needed to take better photos. So I saved up my money and bought myself a Canon AE1 (wow I was a happy kid that day). From that day on I was taking pictures of everything and anything.

OK, now that I have rambled and bored everyone.

What will you find on this blog? One feature will be my favorite photo of the week. Along with my thoughts on the ever changing photogtraphy industry.
